El Aguacate’s cooking classes are truly a unique experience. While the classes can be customized to fit the your wants and needs, the class usually focuses on Costa Rican and other Central American dishes that have been recreated in a plant-based manner. Many of the dishes are recipes learned from staff at our former restaurant, Buddha’s Garden in San Juan del Sur. These dishes are rich in culinary history and these recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. Other recipes have been learned and refined through El Aguacate’s local clients and friends, replacing any animal products with plant-based versions.
These classes are great for groups of all sizes. They are usually a highlight of guests’ trips. Chef Matteo will usually create the class based on what is locally and seasonally available. He is also happy to teach classes on fermentation, knife skills, nut cheeses and more. Just ask!
