Finding Organic Fruits and Veggies in Tamarindo

Finding organic fruits and vegetables to use in our food is our top priority.  We always seek the highest quality and freshest of ingredients wherever we are, but when visiting or settling in a new town, locating what you want takes some patience while traversing a new area.  We are happy to have a few options in Tamarindo to buy our organic produce.   

1) Our favorite natural foods store in the area is Mentha y Limon. It is a small, woman-owned business that offers high quality, in season organic fruits and vegetables.  We find their fresh produce to be of the highest quality and available  year round.  They work with small farmers throughout Costa Rica to bring their customers the best quality available.  THey also have a bulk section and many other organic dry goods and packaged products.  

2) Almacen is another natural food store in Tamarindo.  They have a smaller fruit and vegetable selection, but it is all organic and comes from small farms in Costa Rica.  We find their produce to be very fresh and in season too.   They also offer a wonderful bulk ingredient section and other packaged, dry grocery items.  

3) Nosara Organic comes every Saturday to the TamaMarket.  They sell fresh, seasonal fruits and veggies much of which is organic.  Here you can find some more rare varieties of fruits that are grown in different parts of Costa Rica.  They also offer some other packaged local products available for purchase.
